Medicine is in Dr. Indraneel Chakrabarty’s blood as he has several generations of family members who are physicians in various specialties from his father, paternal and maternal grandfather’s, great grandfather’s, great grandfather’s, various uncles, brother, etc. His father is a gastroenterologist and was a strong influence in his life. He grew up in Hemet and went to Hemet High School. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (BS) in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). He subsequently moved to Boston where he lived for 13 years completing his training for his medical career. He obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). He went on to obtain his Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) from BUSM. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Boston City Hospital and Boston University Hospital. He was a hospitalist at Massachusetts General Hospital and teaching associate at Harvard Medical School where he taught and oversaw residents. He went on to specialize in Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. He was very blessed to be trained by some of the best in the country. However, he loves the area where he grew up and saw the need to return and elevate the care in the region, specifically in Gastroenterology. He moved back to Temecula, CA in 2011 to provide Gastroenterology services, including much needed advanced gastroenterology procedures which nobody else provides in the local region. He became the Director of Gastroenterology at Temecula Valley Hospital in 2013.
